The 2010-11 Live in HD season commences in New Zealand cinemas from November 2010. The Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series The Met: Live in HD continues, featuring 12 transmissions starring many of the world’s greatest singers in brand new roles.

The popularity of the productions in the last season has resulted in cinema audiences requesting another series. Nearly thirty cinemas nationwide have committed to screening the new series. Please check our cinema page to find your nearest participating cinema.

You can also sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know our upcoming operas, a chance to win tickets, exclusive trailer clips, encore session times and other Met Opera related information.

Tickets for the 2010-11 series will be on sale soon, and bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment. Note that ticket prices have increased to $28 for seniors & children, and $33 for adults. Don’t miss your chance to experience the Met live at your local cinema!

The show is shot with a dozen cameras, some of which move, and the changes in perspective provide new dimensions to a stage picture usually seen from a single vantage point ... Seeing the production in a high definition transmission was a different, though equally compelling experience.
